Arriving 1 or 2 hours later isn’t usually a problem. Your crew can do the yacht check in before you arrive. Generally, the yachts may set sail as soon as they are ready. If you are going to arrive a few hours late, send us a message to info@adriaexperience.com and we can let you know what you should do on arrival.

In case you arrive a day or two later, you will just need to make your way out to the yachts yourself. We do not provide any transfers to the yacht once they have set sail.

Can I simply show up on the first day and join a crew?

It’s not possible just to show up on the first day and join, as the yachting companies need to prepare all the documents several weeks before departure.

Having your healthcare insurance documents with you is always good. Most Credit Cards provide travel insurance that cover for several injuries and medical transport.

What if I get Injured during the trip?

For serious injuries during the trip we always have a crew member with us, who can provide basic first aid and call further assistance. But you can be relaxed, nothing serious has ever happened before. At the same time make sure that your travel insurance (i.e. credit card insurance) covers you during the cruise.

For Cabin bookings:

If there are only few person that needs to leave earlier, then it will not make any difference to us or the yachting company. You need to organise transport to the mainland at your own expense and the rest of your crew will simply continue. Speak to your skipper or Adria Experience contact person and they will advise you how to get back to the mainland. Bear in mind that transport connections vary depending on where you are on the cruise.

For Cabin bookings:

Keep in mind that 95% of people like to spend as much as possible time at the sea and enjoy every well deserved hour on the yacht during our events. So if your crew does not agree with your plan, you will need to find the way to arrive earlier. Important is to mention it few days in advance so that the skipper can help you out accordingly.

When do I have to arrive on the first day and when does the yacht return back on the last day?

We recommend you to arrive to the marina between 13 -14h. Then you will have time to register with us, do the check-in with the yachting company, bring the luggage to the yacht and do the food shopping.

The yachts usually set sail between 16- 18h and get back to the marina on Friday afternoon usually around 17-18h (the exact time varies depending on weather conditions) You will stay one last night on the yachts in the marina and will then have to check out and leave the yacht before 9am on Saturday morning.

What will the itinerary look like?

Each event with is designed to provide you particular experiences aboard a yacht. So their routes, sailing areas and pace do vary. The life on the yacht – sailing, enjoying the bays and various places – remains the same in every event. It just that the theme of the event and it’s activities will add that special flavor to your whole sailing week.

If you Rent A Yacht or book Big Chill Sailing, what you do during the day is totally up to you and your skipper. Give your input and wishes at the beginning of the cruise to your skipper, so that he can put up a frame for your route and make sure that the whole week has a natural flow. He will also plan according to the weather patterns, which can influence sometimes the whole plan. Especially at the beginning and the end of the sailing season, when the weather can get more unstable. Do not order daily destinations like in a taxi, or change them all the time, since the yachting does not work like that and it is a sure way to ruin your vacation.

Usually people spend their day chilling on the yacht and sailing from one port or a bay to another with a stop in a bay or two, to have a lunch and enjoy a swim.

The distance varies, but you would usually expect to leave the marina early or mid morning and arrive to the destination in the afternoon to catch a spot for the yacht. You can also arrive in the evening, if you choose a bay for a stay overnight. It also depends how much time you spend having lunch and enjoying bays and swimming. When the yachts arrive to the port in the afternoon, you will have time to both explore and do some extra activities you wish so.
